Access arrangements and reasonable adjustments (AARA) are designed to assist students that have disability, impairment and/or medical conditions, or experience other circumstances that may be a barrier to their performance in assessment.
These barriers fall into three broad categories:
permanent
temporary
intermittent.
The QCAA uses broad application categories for AARA eligibility:
cognitive
physical
sensory
social/emotional.
Instructions for AARA (QCAA) Applications Year 10 -12
To be considered an application must be submitted/prepared in accordance with QCAA published timelines
Please refer to the Highfields State Secondary College’s Assessment Policy prior to submission of the application.
Granting of AARA is at the discretion of the Deputy/ Principal and the QCAA.
The Subject and Assessment section may be completed prior to meeting with student/parent as consultation with teacher/HOD may be required
Adjustments must be not interfere with the integrity of the assessment item and must allow the student to meet the achievement standard.
