Term Three Presentations - Cyber Reputation Management and Personal Safety

This term students will attend two presentations - Cyber Reputation Management and Personal Safety.  A session for parents on the topic of Cyber Reputation Management will also be held.  We do ask that parents/caregivers return the slip included on the letter sent home with students if you are planning on attending the parent session.
 
Tuesday 28 July - Cyber Reputation Management – Student Sessions
Students will attend a presentation that covers a range of topics such as:
·          proactive, positive uses and benefits of social media,
·         current and upcoming strategies and trends in social technologies,
·         digital citizenship and understanding your digital footprint,
·         responding to and reporting negative online content,
·         legal and real world consequences of online behaviours,
·         key issues relating to online privacy, security and reputation management.
 
These presentations will be run by Education Queensland’s Cyber Reputation team.
 
Tuesday 28th July - Cyber Reputation Management – Parent/Caregiver Session
3.30pm – 4.15pm, HSSC Theatre
 Parents/Caregivers are invited to attend this session which provides an overview of cyber safety, trending platforms, online do’s and don’ts and useful setting to be aware of.
Rob Priddey, a former Queensland Detective and online covert police officer from Task Force Argos, will be presenting this session.  Rob is the team manager of the Cyber Reputation Management team in Education Queensland.
 
Thursday 30th July - Personal Safety – Student Sessions
This presentation will be delivered by Senior Constable Leigh James from the Crime Prevention Unit.  This presentation provides an awareness of safety risks and includes practical strategies to reduce the risk of becoming a victim and respond effectively to various safety threats.  Areas to be covered are party safe, bullying/cyberbullying, and relationship violence.
