Assembly was opened by Deputy Principal, Mrs Jayne Kennedy.
Values Certificates from Open Day: Mrs Barker had the pleasure of distributing Values Certificates for Responsibility to the 31 students who did an absolutely amazing job as volunteer tour guides for our Open Day on Saturday, 20th May.  Some of these students also assisted our staff in other ways throughout the day and helped make our Open Day successful.
Staff who volunteered on the day were also acknowledged and presented with Values Certificates by Mrs Barker.
Well done and thank you to all these staff and students for representing our College in such a positive way.

Staff –v- Student Touch Football Game: State of Origin touch football game will be happening at first lunch today. House Captains are organising the student team so get there early for a 10:15am start.  Everyone is welcome to come down and support your peers. 
Touch Football Carnival – 13th August 2017: Expressions of interest are called from students wishing to participate in this carnival. Please see either Mr Dean or Mr Pukallus if you would like to be a participant.
Athletics Carnival: Only two weeks to go until our Athletics Carnival on Friday, 16th June.  Please be aware that sign-ups in house groups will be occurring this Thursday and Friday.  Please listen to Form notices over the next couple of days for these sign-ups.  Sign-ups need to be completed this week in order to be organised in time for the Athletics Carnival. There will be four nominations per age group per event.  Plan for sign-ups is as follows –
Thursday, 1st June: 1st Lunch – Chisholm House and 2nd Lunch – Doyle House
Friday, 2nd June: 1st Lunch – Dunlop House and 2nd Lunch – Freeman House
DD Representatives: The following students were presented with Values Certificates for representing HSSC in their chosen sport -
Bailey Kowitz (Touch Football), Halle Nielsen (Soccer), Amie Klein (Hockey), Sam Bullen (Hockey), Lucy Major (Soccer), Deklan Branson (AFL), Darcy Mackay (Cross Country), Declan Quilter (Softball) and Nathan Mean (Hockey).
Congratulations to all these students and good luck for when they go to state level championships.
More Values Certificates will be distributed next week for students involved with the Laura Geitz Carnival.
