Assembly was opened by Deputy Principal – Mrs Jayne Kennedy
Values Certificates: Mrs Kennedy awarded a Values Certificate for ‘Responsibility’ to Ben Sparshott for taking on the role of Form Class Captain for DU02. Congratulations Ben.
Mrs Barker awarded Values Certificates for ‘Kindness’ to Amie Klein, Breanna Pledge and Rachael Pledge for assisting an elderly lady on a scooter on their way to school. Well done girls on showing such kindness and thoughtfulness.
Mr Dean awarded Values Certificates for ‘Responsibility’ to Seth McMahon, Travis Morice and (No Media Permission) for ‘Caring for this Place’ by leading the ‘House Bin Challenge’. Well done boys. Mr Dean also awarded Values Certificates for ‘Respect’ to the following students for exceptional representation of our college values at the Swans All School Touch Tournament: -
Abby Coleborn, Xuan Mai Connor, Paige Cronk, Chloe Gray, Charli Katopodis, Illa Lewis, Claire McGinn, Holly Thompson, Brooke Baldwin, Lily Burns, Georgia Katopodis, Phoebe Long, Kacey McGinn, Holly Morton, Anastazia (no surname permitted), Mollie Scofield and Jessica Wallace. Well done to all these girls.
Tim Rayner also received a Values Certificate for demonstrating ‘Responsibility’ for picking up rubbish without being asked. Good work Tim.
Support Staff Recognition Week: Mrs Barker had great pleasure in acknowledging the importance of the various roles our support staff play throughout the year.  Our support staff consist of Administration, Teacher Aides, Schools Officers, Cleaners, ICT Officers, Scientific Operations Officer and P&C staff.
Mrs Barker told the ‘Starfish Story’ and then emphasised how different the daily life of students would be, if the duties performed every day by the support staff were not completed.
Mrs Cindy Wright (Business Services Manager) was thanked formally by Mrs Barker and then had the privilege of recognising and honouring the support staff by presenting each of the staff members with an individual cupcake (made by Mrs Sandy Jenner – Canteen Convenor) and a Values Certificate for ‘Demonstrating the School Values Every Day’.
Year 8 Debaters: The Year 8 debating team was wished all the very best for tonight as they compete in the Grand Final at Downlands College.
Assembly was closed by Mrs Kennedy.
