Assembly News Dated 30th May 2018

Assembly : Wednesday, 30th May 2018
Assembly was opened by Mrs Kennedy.
New Form Captains for CH08A: Due to students leaving the school, Kailee Leitch and Daryll Kinivan were appointed as new form captains for CH08A. Congratulations to Daryll and Kailee.
Spelling Bee: Sign up now if you are interested. Will be held next Wednesday at 2nd break.
Maths Challenge: Mrs Sharma and Mr Murphy were very proud of the efforts of our Year 9 and 10 students who participated in the recent Maths Challenge. These students competed against 20 other schools and came 3rd overall. Mr Murphy was especially proud of their achievements in the Relay Challenge where they were placed 2nd.  The overall placing, with 130 points out of 150 positioned HSSC in 3rd place.  Ms Barker had the pleasure of presenting the trophy to Aiden Willis on behalf of his team members.
Vivo Prizes: Byron Edwards, Tyler (no media permission for surname) and Campbell (no media permission for surname) received their vivo prizes.  School-based incentives were also awarded to the following students –
·         Canteen Vouchers – Natasha Scamp and Chelsea Sibley.
·         Jump the Queue Vouchers – Taya Simonsen, Cameron Dick, Eligh Dungey and Michael Congreve.
Year 9 Rugby League Boys: Well done to the boys who competed and won against Harristown SHS.  Thank you to the boys that stepped in at the last minute due to unexpected vacancies and to Josh’s dad for his help and support on the day.
Wednesday Afternoon Sport: Interschool sport students were reminded to meet at the school gate at 1:00pm today to be transported to their venue.
Netball: Reminder to return consent forms to Ms Beningfield as soon as possible.
Athletics Carnival Days: Week 10 – 21st and 22nd June.  Keep an eye on the noticeboards around the school for upcoming practice sessions and sign-up sheets.
Kokoda Challenge: Students participating in this activity are to see Mr Dyson at first break today.
Softball: Thank you to all students who participated in the recent carnival and to Deklan and Ms Reinbott for their help and support.
Senior Plays: Happening this Thursday, 31st May and Friday, 1st June.  Tickets are available from the College office - $5 for students and concession holders and $10 for adults. 
DO07B were requested to remain behind after assembly.
