Assembly Highlights

 Toowoomba Crime Prevention Unit
·         Talk to students has been postponed due to illness.  A new date will be negotiated.
National Sorry Day
·         Congratulations to Vickira and Jasmine, who along with Ms Kelly, presented an overview of National Sorry Day to the assembly.
Professional Photography
·         Students were reminded that we will have a professional photographer in the school on Thursday.  The images taken will be used for a range of school purposes.  A reminder was given that only students who have returned a note giving them permission to participate will be selected if required to be in any photos.
Values Certificates
·         Congratulations to the 17 students who were recognised by their teachers for living our school values this week.
VIVO Points
·         Now that VIVO has been running in the college for a number of weeks students were provided with a rundown of the top three performing form classes in terms of VIVOs awarded to date.  They are as follows:
o   3rd Place – 8D
o   2nd Place – 8B
o   1st Place – 7G
Road Safety
·         Students were reminded that if they need to cross O’Brien Road in the afternoon a member of staff is available to assist. Presently a number of students are doing this.  All students need to do is approach the staff member waiting near the bus area and they will help them safely cross the road.
·         It was also noted that some students who are waiting to be collected further down O’Brien Road are sitting on the edge of the road which poses a safety concern.  Students were reminded if they were waiting to wait safely on the path.
